“Man on Fire”: Film review

Before “Taken,” “Taken 2,” “Taken 3,” and apparently a forthcoming “Taken” TV show, there was Denzel Washington as a vengeance-seeking ex-CIA-assassin-turned-Mexico-city-bodyguard-turned-back-into-assassin hunting the kidnappers, double-crossers, crooked cops and lawyers, and accomplices involved in the botched kidnapping and ransoming of his employer’s daughter. They’ve crossed the wrong guy, clearly, and they all find out very soon.
Supporting cast includes Christopher Walken, Dakota Fanning, Marc Anthony, and Mickey Rourke.
Based on a 1980 thriller novel by Philip Nicholson (set in Italy, not Mexico), and adapted previously for the big screen in 1987.
