“Ouija: Origin of Evil”: Film review

“Ouija” was quite a lame film with few moments to even jolt the viewer. Prequel “Ouija: Origin of Evil” is a pleasant surprise – it actually gets creepy and jumpy, and even the final climax scene doesn’t degenerate too much into the rushing windy house-collapsing scream exorcism that many horror-possession films resort to. Definitely one or two laugh-instead-of-scream moments (bungee hanging victim, anyone?), but overall a good watching. The late 60s patina and sheen makes this even more warm and cinematic.
