Dinosaur Jr.’s “Give A Glimpse Of What Yer Not”: Music review

Dinosaur Jr.’s eleventh studio album, released in August, comes along at a time when it’s hard to connect the 90s grunge era with what’s happening culturally today. Sonically, this is definitely a very long way from the raw and ragged cacophony fun-time indie sounds of early Dinosaur albums, and still progressively polished when compared to, say, 1997’s “Hand it over.” Pretty solid songwriting and guitar work all the same, full of melodic hook lines as usual, even if J Mascis has gotten somehow too jaded with sounding jaded to sound as jaded as he used to.
