Visage’s “Beat Boy”: Music review

This third Visage album was so poorly received when it was released in 1984 that it effectively killed the band until 2013’s “Hearts & Knives.” It’s been poorly received by me, too.
Parts of “Beat Boy” have vocal melodic similarities to Queen’s “Radio Ga Ga,” which might partly explain why the album was reviewed as “a cross between all-purpose Euro-disco and Queen.” The frenetic Van Halen guitar might be another reason for the Queen reference.
I’m not sure who the other vocalist is on “Casualty” but whoever it is, he’s terrible.
Other tracks, like “Questions” have a little Bowie in the vocals, but not enough to make this a memorable album. The amount of saxophone doesn’t help either.
Sadly, this is not the better side of the 80s.
