“The Skeleton Key”: Film review

A mildly creepy film with excellent raw material to work with – an old plantation house in the swamps outside New Orleans, a whispered violent past, hoodoo in the bayou, the line between superstition and supernatural – and a great cast including John Hurt, but a film that ultimately falls flat on its face in a clumsily worked climax.
